erikamoen: Octopus Screenprint Last night I attempted to screenprint with silver ink for the first time, even though I’d been warned metallic ink can be difficult. Oh my goodness. It wasn’t like using ink at all, it was like trying to print with PUTTY.  At the very end of the night, I managed to get one decent print, this one you see here. It’s still a bit patchier than I’d like, but I think at my next session I’ll be able to get a few more good ones.  But DANG. I’ve never had such a monstrously hard time trying to make a print before!   7. upthefolks said: if you mix it with either a little acrylic medium or transparent base it can make it less awful to print metallics!

  12. pencilears said: The problem with metalic inks is just that the particles clog up the details on the screen if they dry on it a little, easily washed out though. Are you doing a flood-stroke first? Sometimes they don’t teach that technique but it helps consistency.
